Burgers get miniaturized at Central Market

By Jesse Hughey

Conventional wisdom has it that people in Texas like things bigger, but that's no excuse for White Castle not to at least try to sell its mini-burgers, aka "sliders," here. After all, Krystal's seems to be doing all right, and I've probably bought enough frozen White Castle products to fund the opening of a franchise or two. Texans who like their burgers small should show up at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Central Market on Lovers Lane and Greenville Avenue for the Sliders and Burgers course, at which the cooking school staff will teach how to make delicacies such as the BLT crab cake slider, foie gras burger and portobello mushroom steak burger with gorgonzola butter and red pepper vinaigrette. Call 214-234-7000 or visit centralmarket.com.
